Solar Installations to Triple by 2027

A new report from the Solar Energy Industries Association and Wood Mackenzie shares that the U.S. solar market is on pace to triple over the next five years. With the Inflation Reduction Act, President Biden has signed the largest ever U.S. climate bill into law, which means the solar industry now has more long-term certainty. In fact, the report projects the solar market growing 40 percent more than prior predictions.

While this is overall great news for the electrical industry and our planet, there is currently an obstacle. Right now demands in utility-scale projects are not being met due to a slow supply chain. Fortunately, there has still been much growth in residential solar. Between more frequent grid outages, severe weather events and energy prices increasing, more consumers are looking to solar to power their homes.

IBEW NECA 252 is ready to meet the challenge of the growing solar industry. Moving Washtenaw and Jackson counties into a cleaner, more reliable future with solar energy is a top priority. We are solar experts, so let’s get started.
